Youth Competition Team Climbing Coach
Climb Moab is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Youth Competition Team Climbing Coach to lead and develop our new youth competition program. This role is ideal for someone passionate about rock climbing, youth development, and long-term athlete growth. You will work with motivated young climbers, helping them build strong technical skills, competition strategies, and a positive team culture.
Responsibilities
Lead structured bouldering training sessions for youth competition team climbers
Prepare athletes for local, regional, and national competitions
Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive training environment
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and gym staff
Support athlete progression, goal setting, and performance evaluation
Uphold gym policies and safety standards at all times
Qualifications
Strong background in climbing (competitive experience and/or prior coaching experience preferred)
Experience working with children and/or youth athletes
Solid understanding of climbing movement, technique, and training principles
Ability to manage groups of kids with varying skill levels
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Current First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)
SafeSport Certification
Schedule & Compensation
Training sessions held weekly afterschool
Competition weekends may be required
Compensation: To commensurate with experience and activity

Commit to Climbing Instructor
Commit to Climbing Series Instructor
Schedule: Wednesdays, 6–8pm (four-week sessions)
About the Role:
Climb Moab Gym is seeking an experienced, motivating climbing instructor to lead our Commit to Climbing Series. This program empowers climbers to build their own workouts and training plans, fostering community connections and healthy gym habits over a four-week series of structured, small-group sessions.
Responsibilities:
Plan and lead structured workouts and climbing-specific training for a group of up to 8 participants each week
Provide hands-on instruction on technique, movement, and safe training practices
Foster a supportive, encouraging group dynamic that builds accountability and connection among participants
Track participant progress across the four-week series and adjust instruction as needed
Uphold gym safety standards and protocols at all times
Qualifications:
Solid personal climbing experience and strong technical knowledge
Prior coaching, personal training, or group fitness instruction experience preferred
Strong communication and group facilitation skills
Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Belay certification / ability to pass gym belay test
Compensation: Hourly or per-session rate, commensurate with experience
