Climbing has always felt like a conversation to me. Less about forcing moves, more about listening. To the rock, to your body, to the holds, and the space in between.
I’ve been climbing for just under 10 years. 6 of those years were dedicated to competing at the local, regional, and national level, including 2.5 years on the USAC Elite Circuit coached by some amazing people. Those experiences shaped how I see movement. That it’s not just something to complete or solve, but rather, something to feel and understand.
This month in Commit to Climbing, we’ll dig into the tools behind those feelings:
Using feet with intention, generating and controlling momentum, focusing on exercises that translate directly into better movement, understanding movement before pulling on, and how mindset ties into everything that we do. Each session will be filled with insights that are normally only available to Elite Athletes.
It’s not just about climbing harder, but rather, understanding why things work so you can take ownership of your progress. My favorite feeling is when I’m dancing with the rock, and I’m excited to move with you all this month.
